COKING COAL

Coking coal is used in the production of metallurgical coke and foundry coke; which mixed on heating at 1.200 °C in the absence of oxygen (process known as Carbonization) is able to be softened, liquefied and re-solidified; undergo transformation into plastic state, swell and then re-solidify to give a kind of Cake.

Our coal mines are located in Cundinamarca and Boyacá (Center of the country) where the biggest deposits are located. This region is the source of many national and international coke producers. Our coking coal outstanding quality has been proven to be one of the best of the world, so it has become favorite to many Asian, American and South American buyers.
